Multivitamins reduce risk of cancer reoccurring

Jun 2025

Prostate cancer patients may have a lower risk of recurrence if they take multivitamin supplements after diagnosis, according to research published in European Urology Oncology.

Researchers evaluated 1396 men with non-metastatic prostate cancer who had undergone radiation or radical prostatectomy and were also enrolled in the US CaPSURE study. The University of California San Francisco research project aims to learn more about which prostate cancer treatments work best, for which patients, in whose hands.

Researchers concluded that taking multivitamins after prostate cancer diagnosis was associated with a lower risk of prostate cancer recurrence, particularly in patients with higher-grade disease. They commented that research relating to the use of multivitamins and the risk of reoccurrence is limited and that their findings warrant further investigation.
